General Physics

General Physics Program:
Thefields of study of thefacultymembers in the General Physics Program arefocused on preparing metal, semiconductor, dielectric, polymer, plasmapolymer, single-crystal, polycrystallineoramorphousmaterials in pureoradditive form anddeterminingtheelectrical, thermalandopticalproperties of thesematerials. Thematerialsproduced can be in the form of thin film orbulkor in liquidphase. At thesame time, materialproduction can be madewiththeplasmapolymertechniqueavailable in severaluniversities in ourcountry.
 Inthesestudies, development of supercapacitors, theoretical-experimentalinvestigation of solar cells, surfacemorphology, development of metal-semiconductormulti-jointedstructures, electro-opticaldevices, conductivepolymers, biocompatiblepolymers, increasingtheresistance of asphalt, development of water-repellentmaterials, defectcharacterization, energyefficiency. Studiesfordifferentfieldssuch as productionanddevelopment of materials, drugdesigns, bacterialresistance, thermoelectricmaterials, energyconversionmaterials, andheating-coolingandenergyproductiontechnologiesdevelopment, dc - acconductivitycharacterizationareongoing. Inaddition, physicalparameters of thematerialaredeterminedbyanalogytechniquesand data obtainedbyexperimentalmethods. Thesestudiesarecarriedouttheoreticallyandexperimentally in conjunctionwithbothnationalandinternationalresearchcenterswiththeDielectricSpectroscopy, Thin Film andFlawCharacterization, SustainableEnergyResearchLaboratorieswithinthe General Physics Program. Prof. Dr. Deniz Değer ULUTAŞ

Deniz Değer Ulutaşcompleted her undergraduateeducation at IstanbulUniversity, Faculty of Science, Department of Physicsandgraduateeducation at thesameuniversityInstitute of Science, General Physics Program.
Her main scientificstudiesare on theproduction of materialswithdifferenttechniques (thermal, sputtering, e-beam) thickness of micronorangstromandobtainingthetargetedmaterialsbyevaluatingtheresultsobtainedthroughelectrical, opticalandstructuralanalysis. Inthisprocess, it carriesoutjointstudieswithdifferentdisciplinessuch as medicine, pharmacy, engineering, chemistryandmolecularbiology. Thegoal is toreachproductsthat can facilitatetoday's life. Sheobtained her BScdegreefrom İstanbul University, ScienceFaculty, PhysicsDepartment, her MScandPhDdegreesfrom İstanbul University, Institute of Science, General Physics Program. She main researchareasincledeinvestigation of dependence of variousparameters on electricalproperties of bulkandthinfilms of ternaryandbinarysemiconductorsmaterialsanddetermination of conductivitymechanismsobserved in suchmaterials.

Assis. Dr. Şahin Yakut:He received his undergraduate degree from AbantİzzetBaysal University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics; He received his master's and doctorate degrees from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Physics Department.He has been at PhysicsDepartmentof University of Charles for his PhDthesisstudies.
 Preparation of amorphous double and triple compounds in the form of thin film and preparation of polymer and plasma polymer samples in the form of thin film; He is working on the dielectric characterization of thin film, ingot and liquid form samples. He continues his studies to contribute to the national and international literature with the evaluation of the data obtained from these studies in accordance with areas such as health, thermoelectricity, non-wetness, insulating interface, and recyclable energy storage sources.
